PRAYERS FROM THE HEART

WHAT? PRAYER?

I know that I pray for so many folk Lord
and for Peace and for strength of my own
I’ve prayed for those whom I feel need your help,
for those who suffer in pain

I always thank you for all you provide
For the fact that we’re here where we live
For the wonders of your beautiful world
And at times I need You to forgive…

And then, Lord I prayed please give wings to the feet
of our footballers out in Brazil
They played, didn’t win and they played, lost again
So was I too cheeky to call?

Oh I know my request may somehow have seemed
Not quite the right thing to do
But so many players give the sign of the Cross
On the pitch, giving deference to You

So please lift the spirits of all our lads
Give them hope that their time will come
There’s work to be done, train the young players on
Then the Euro cup could maybe won!

Dear God, may I ask once again

That you take away all of my pain?

It’d be such a big deal

To no longer be ill

I might even begin to feel sane!
